London Green Screen Studio

I needed a London green screen studio and was delighted to find Simulacra Studio in Sydenham SE26.

I was offered a choice of green screen cloth which covers their 6m x 6m x 3m infinity cove, or canvas, or chroma green Colorama, or even the option of the cove being painted.

I settled for the cloth which was perfect for my needs.

The studio itself is a total gem, one of the very few studios with an infinity cove in South London.

Fully equipped for photography and video with 2 purpose built shooting areas on site.

It also has a really handy location right opposite a big Sainsbury’s which has it’s own cafe, plus a B&Q and Screwfix which proved useful when we needed a few last minute extras for our set build.

The staff couldn't do enough for us, especially the studio owner Francois who proved invaluable, pitching in rigging lighting and giving technical advice to make our shoot run smoothly.

He's a professional photographer, so completely underwood our objectives and technical requirements. It definitely helped to have his input and we shot everything needed in our 10am-6pm slot.

There’s also a second studio, which we’ll use next time we’re shooting products and don’t require the full size of Studio One.

The space is ground floor, with 3 phase power and sizable industrial doors throughout, we loaded all the kit in through the roller shutter access, straight into the studio itself so there were no tricky stairs or tight corners to navigate!

The crew charmingly provided an amazing surprise breakfast too, we were greeted with the aroma of freshly baked bread on entry with fruit jam, a selection of pastries and croissants and of course tea, coffee plus a fridge full of soft drinks with a few favourites like pink lemonade,  3 Cent grapefruit soda and even a couple of craft beers!

The level of hospitality really makes a difference, we've had a very much ‘do it yourself’ attitude at other studios, here the hosting was much appreciated

It’s sometimes the little touches that make all the difference.

The London green screen studio is very private, we had the space all to ourselves for the full day, they kept Studio Two unbooked so it wouldn't overlap with our booking.

All in all we had a great shoot, we hung out and had lunch in the lounge in their comfy lounge which is a great creative space too.

Thank you to the Simulacra Studio team, we’ll definitely be back in the London green screen studio soon.
